The fantastic Door of Marrakech !

🇫🇷 En triant mes photos de mon dernier voyage à Marrakech une des choses qui j’ai retenue sont les belles portails! Nous sommes habitués aux portes qui remplissent leur fonction de base en tant qu’entrées et sorties, et dans la plupart des villes, vous ne voulez pas une belle porte qui attire l’attention des gens….Au Maroc, en revanche, les portes sont beaucoup plus flamboyantes surtout dans la Médina. Les portes marocaines sont faites d’une variété de matériaux (bois, laiton, plâtre, etc.) dont certains sont finement sculptés ou rustiques et basiques. Mais vraiment, les portes sont une attraction en soi. De superbes détails, beaucoup d’artisanat et beaucoup de design pour créer ces magnifiques portails. On se demande juste ce qu’il y a derrière… •

🇬🇧 When going throug my photos of my last trip to Marrakech in Morocco one of the things that stood were the beautiful doors! We are used to doors serving their basic function as entrances and exits and in most cities you wouln’t want a nice door attracting the attention of people. In Morocco, on the other hand, doors are much more flamboyant specifically in the Medina (Old center). Moroccan doors are made of a variety of materials (wood, brass, plaster etc.) some intricately carved or rustic and basic. But really, the doors are an attraction in themselves. Stunning details, a lot of craftsmanship and great amount of design to creat these beautifull portals. Just wondering what is behind…..
